Paul Metcalfe originally started LetterStack after saving countless links to articles, communities, and directories. He wanted to share these great resources with other artists, creatives, and writers worldwide, so he built LetterStack to compile all the newsletter-building resources he found. Following the site's launch, Paul got LetterStack to #1 on Product Hunt.

Like most successful entrepreneurs, Paul worked on multiple promising projects and decided to move on from LetterStack. He trusted Kyle Steinmeyer with the site, and Kyle continued building this unique online resource for creators. It certainly helped that Kyle publishes one of the best newsletter resources on the market today.

Michael Frew, serial entrepreneur (and my mentor), consumed a lot of LetterStack resources in 2020 to build his own newsletter. When he found out it was on sale, he jumped at the opportunity to acquire it and continue growing it.

Fast-forward to the present day. I worked with Michael from 2023 to 2024 and learned a lot from him. I expressed my interest in acquiring LetterStack in early 2024, and to my delight, we went through the process within a few days.

The ground has shifted dramatically since LetterStack was created, and there is incredible potential and growth in the newsletter space. A newsletter might be the only place left to preserve your unique voice and perspective for your audience, as most social networks and search engines are doing the uneasy tango with AI-generated content.
